UK Travel : Great Places In London

London, being as big as it is, offers a great number of different experiences, depending on which part of it you visit. Basically, London is comprised of a number of towns all connected to one another. The best of these towns to visit are:

Covent Garden & The Strand - Draw an enormous crowd of people, as this wide street running from Trafalgar Square towards the city is chock full of fascinating shops, theatres and hotels. Covent garden leads of the Strand and is filled with cafes, bars and street entertainers (magicians, dancers, mime artists, etc.).

Kensington - You will find yourself right at the gates of Kensington Palace and in just the right location for not only shopping but for looking for members of the royalty. In this area, your chances are much greater of seeing a member of the royal party coming or going from Kensington Palace. Even if you do not manage to see a royal, you will be certain to get lots of great photographs.

Oxford Circus & Piccadilly Circus - These are two of London's most iconic sites and draw millions of tourists each year. Situated in the West End of London, Piccadilly Circus serves as a central hub and common meeting place and is thus very busy and a tad untidy. London's main shopping district is Oxford Street which can be best entered from Oxford Circus.

Soho & Leicester Square - Soho is a very lively London town where you are sure to find excellent bars and fabulous eateries. Leicester Square, situated adjacent to Soho, is well known for the UK films that premier there. You might be able to spot famous celebrities in these towns, so you do not want to forget your camera and something for them to sign.

Westminster - The home of the UK government for the United Kingdom can be found in Westminster, as can the world famous Westminster Abbey. Grand, important buildings can be seen from every street corner and you cannot help but feel the rich history that surrounds you. Relive the days when the UK was at its most glorious with a walk around Westminster.
