When you go away on any holiday even if it's walking holidays or self drive holidays it can be useful to find out a little about the destination you plan on visiting. For those of you who want to drive whilst in Costa Rica it is good to know that it won't be all that different from your driving back home. The cities are well established and you will find most of the roads across the country to be in good condition.

Diving is one activity that you will find taking place all over the beautiful country of Costa Rica. With spectacular beaches and beautiful blue waters it is easy to see why so many people like diving in these destinations. There are a multitude of different dive spots around the country and you are sure to find somewhere to rent gear from.

You will experience two very different seasons if you stay in Costa Rica long enough. The wet season will be there from May through November and the dry season starts in December ending in April. In most cases you will want to travel during the dry season, as excess rain during the wet season will make the environment very humid.

If you like your home food then you will be in lucky as Costa Rica has many of the westernised restaurant chains. But bear in mind that this is mostly going to be in the bigger cities and it is always nice to try some of the local dishes.

If you fancy getting off shore you will be presented with many beautiful islands. These islands are very cleaned and you will be able to take part in many activities here. Turtle Island also known as Tortuga Islands is one of the more popular island destinations in Costa Rica.
